Hello!

My name is Rachel Ayers, and I’m the new Library Director at Towanda Public Library.  I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself.

I was born in Kingman, KS, and my family moved all around the country as I grew up, but somehow we landed back in Kansas.  I’m a graduate of Pittsburg State University, with a degree in English.  I’m a committed book lover and a writer.  I live with my husband and our two cats in El Dorado.

I’m delighted to be working with Joy and Shawna here in Towanda.  We’ll be having an open house on Wednesday, December 14 and I do hope you’ll stop by and say hello.  (I have been informed that there will be cookies, too!)

The renovation is complete!!  Many hours of planning and hard work went into this project, and we are so pleased with the results.   There are so many people who helped make this renovation a reality, and we can’t thank them enough!!  We would love to have you come in and see our new look.  Be sure to check out the new books and dvd’s available for checkout when you stop by.

The Library is Getting a New Look!!!

An exciting change is coming to the Towanda Public Library in the form of a renovation.  All the interior walls will get a fresh coat of paint and new carpet will be installed.  The library will need to be closed in order for all the changes to take place.  Our last day open will be Wednesday, October 26th.  We will remain closed until Monday, November 14th.  There will be no fines during the time we are closed.   These changes are exciting and we look forward to sharing our new look with you!!
