The function and purpose of the Towanda Public Library is to assemble, preserve and administer, in organized collections, books and related educational and recreational material.
The Library is to serve the community as a center of reliable information. To provide opportunity for education and recreation through the use of literature, computer technology, music, video, and other art forms.
The library shall supplement the services offered by the schools to their students and within its financial constraints shall try to make its services available to as many people as possible.
