The Library will be having an Open House from 1pm to 7pm to celebrate the 75th anniversary since the library’s opening in 1936. We are also welcoming our new director, Rachel Ayers, a graduate of Pittsburg State University. Come in and introduce yourself and see our finished remodeling project, including new carpet and fresh paint. Punch and cookies will be served.
Westerns, Inspirational, and Romance
We’re trying a new experiment here at Towanda Public Library, because I know a lot of our Western readers need more books than we have! (Not to mention Romance and Inspirational readers, we haven’t forgotten you!)
So here’s the idea: when you read through a batch of paperbacks (or even one) and you want to clear off your shelf to make room for new ones, you can bring them down to donate to our Free Book pile. And while you’re there, you can check and see what others have donated. There’s no checking books in or out, no waiting, and no worry: if you see something you want to read, it’s all yours! And perhaps when you’re done with it, you can bring it back for somebody else to read, but we won’t be checking up on it.
Mice in the Library
Mice in the library?! That sounds terrible! But don’t worry, these were Merry Mice, and held a sweet treat for our young crafters:

I don’t think they’ll be getting into too much trouble.
If you missed us this week, you can try this craft at home, with directions from Family Fun.
Don’t forget to bring your kids in for story time on December 14th, when we’ll be frosting cookies to fill a take-home tin. And if you can’t make it in the morning, or you don’t get your fill of cookies, be sure to stop by in the afternoon for our Open House, when we’ll be serving punch and cookies from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. I hope to see you there!
