Did you know that you can get a Kansas Library Card through Towanda Public Library?

The Kansas Library Card gives you access, as a Kansas resident, to a variety of resources such as audio book checkouts, Kansas History, government information, and basic computer tutorials.  All this and more can be found through the Kansas State Library website.

The KSLC provides access to the following research databases

• Custom Newspapers
• FirstSearch
• Heritage Quest
• InfoTrac
• Literature Resource Center
• NetLibrary e-Books
• OverDrive audio books and music
• Proquest Nursing Journals
• SIRS Discoverer Deluxe (for grades K-12)
• WorldBook

So what do you need to get a KS Library Card?  Just come into the library and your friendly neighborhood librarians and we will get you signed up with your very own card.  Then you can log into the Kansas Library Cardsite with your account number and birthday, and you’ll have access to a vast number of resources that the State Library has made available for all Kansas residents. Your name, date of birth, and Kansas Library Card PIN are the only personal information kept on the Kansas Library Card computer.

Privacy statement: “Activity data incurred by use of the Kansas Library Card for remote access to online databases is collected. Such data is collected to determine the usefulness of the card. Personal information will be kept confidential to the extent of the law.”

The Kansas Library Card will work with any computer with Internet access and Web browser Internet Explorer or Netscape version 4.0 or better set to accept cookies. WebTV users must have version 2.8 of MSN TV in order to work properly. Each card will automatically expire three years from the date it was issued.
