Get Started on Summer Reading

Hey, Adults and Young Adults!  I know you know about our Summer Reading for kids, but did you know that this summer at Towanda Public Library, there is summer reading for YOU, too?

Be sure to stop in the library to get an information packet, and check the website calendar for events.  Also, come by and reserve a copy of the books for our book discussions:

Adopt A Book!

Now seems like a good idea to tell you about Towanda Public Library’s Adopt a Book program, since it’s one of the ways you can earn raffle entries for this summer’s wonderful raffle prizes.

Adopt A Book!

This book needs a sponsor!  Can you help?

Fund a book in honor of someone’s BIRTHDAY.

Give a book in MEMORY of a friend or relative.

Adopt a book just because you WANT to.

All adopted books (or DVDs!) will be kept in the collection with a bookplate naming the honoree or contributor.  This is a great way to support your library and community.

Friends of the Library, that is!

Friends of Towanda Public Library hosted their annual Monterrey Feed for lunch and dinner last Friday.  After an intensive few days of cooking shells and meat and chopping tomatoes and onion, they served lunch to about 240 people and dinner to 76.  And it was delicious — I can say for sure because that’s where I had my supper!

If you missed the event, don’t worry, there’s always next year….
