Fun Open House
The Open House on the 14th was a lovely success, with many Towanda and area residents stopping by for punch, cookies, and greetings.
We started the day with our story time Christmas party. There was a great turnout: 21 kids brought along their parents, and everyone decorated cookies to take home. We were a bit nervous about how the new carpet would fare, but the kids were good and a quick vacuuming was all it took to restore beauty and order to the floor.
After lunch we had volunteers from Friends of the Library come in to decorate with Christmas-themed table settings. We had cookies galore, nut samples from our nut sales, and delicious punch. The editor from the Times came by and took a few pictures. There’s a lovely write up on their website (click here to see).
(With a new librarian who looks not-too-bad, if I do say so myself.)
If you didn’t make it over, we have quite a few leftover cookies, so feel free to stop by and take some home with you!
