From the Librarian
Some January thoughts:
2010 is the Year of Automation for the library. We will be busy training on the new automation system, bar coding books, and setting patrons up with new accounts. This will keep Joy, Shawna and I very busy, but we are anxious to get started.
This summer’s Summer Reading Program is Make a Splash – Read! Shawna and I are busy choosing books and planning “wet” activities for all school and preschool age children. Watch for the kick off party in May.
What I’m Reading: Currently reading Noah’s Compass, a new novel by Anne Tyler, beloved author of The Accidental Tourist, Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant, and many more.
A Memorial has been established at the library for J. D. Maish, a long-time patron of the library and member of the Friends of the Library. I will be working with Jim’s daughter to choose books for this memorial that reflect Jim’s taste in reading as well as his love for all things Library. We will miss Jim very much.
